The Brief

At JWT Kitchens & Bathrooms, we specialize in transforming homes beyond just installing kitchens. This project in Dalry, North Ayrshire, required a complete rethinking of the ground floor layout to create a brighter, larger living space that suits modern family life. The homeowner envisioned an open-plan area combining cooking, dining, and entertaining, which demanded significant alterations and innovative design solutions.

The Challenge

Many older homes are compartmentalized into separate rooms that no longer fit contemporary lifestyles. For this project, the challenge was to create a spacious open-plan layout. This required extensive structural work, including relocating the kitchen to a new area of the house and installing additional facilities such as a utility room and downstairs WC.

Our Approach

Our team approached this project with a clear focus on functionality and style. We managed every stage of the transformation, from the initial structural changes to the final kitchen installation. The centerpiece is a bespoke Indigo Blue kitchen featuring push-to-open slab cabinetry, providing a clean, uninterrupted look. Complementary oak elements were meticulously matched to the new flooring, ensuring visual continuity.
