The Brief
At JWT Kitchens & Bathrooms, we believe an en-suite should be more than just a practical space—it should be somewhere you genuinely enjoy starting and finishing your day. Our client in Kilmaurs desired a luxurious, hotel-inspired en-suite with a unique design that incorporated warm brass finishes and bold contrasting wall panels. The challenge was to create a space that was not only visually striking but also practical, waterproof, and easy to maintain.
The Challenge
The client's vision was clear: they wanted something different from the typical white bathroom. The goal was to achieve a high-end look without compromising on functionality. The en-suite needed to be fully waterproof and capable of withstanding daily use while maintaining its luxurious appearance. This required careful selection of materials and design elements to meet the client's expectations.
Our Approach
To fulfill the client's brief, we selected premium waterproof wall boards instead of traditional ceramic tiles. The main walls featured stunning Calcutta Bronze marble-effect boards, providing the luxurious appearance of natural marble while ensuring complete waterproofing. Inside the shower enclosure, we used Cosmos wall boards, which introduced a bold black background with flowing bronze detailing. This contrast transformed the shower into the centerpiece of the room.
Consistency in design was achieved through the use of brushed brass throughout the space. This included a rainfall shower, basin mixer tap, shower enclosure, ladder towel radiator, and matching accessories. The warm brass tones harmonized beautifully with both the Calcutta Bronze and Cosmos wall boards, creating a cohesive and premium look.
The shower enclosure was designed as the focal point, with brushed brass framing and premium glass panels allowing the dramatic Cosmos feature wall to remain fully visible. A concealed brass rainfall shower provided a luxurious showering experience while maintaining the clean, minimalist appearance that modern bathrooms are known for.
We included a modern black vanity unit paired with a white basin and brushed brass tap to complement the darker shower feature wall. This introduced contrast while ensuring the room remained bright and balanced. The rimless back-to-wall Deia toilet offered improved hygiene, easier cleaning, and a minimalist appearance, contributing to the streamlined design.
Results
The completed en-suite bathroom in Kilmaurs is a testament to luxury and practicality. The seamless integration of premium materials and thoughtful design elements resulted in a space that is both elegant and functional. The waterproof Black Oak flooring added warmth and contrast against the lighter marble walls and brass fittings. A matt white PVC ceiling with recessed LED lighting provided bright, even illumination, enhancing the room's luxurious ambiance.
